How toDownload Your Strava Flyover As A 3D Video
Strava's Flyover plays inside the Strava app and there is no download button for it. Here is how to turn any activity into a 3D video file you own: export the GPX, drop it into AvoMap, and download the video in up to 4K.

Download The GPX From Strava

Navigate to "Training" > "My Activities" in the menu bar.
Select the activity from your list of recent activities that you want to visualize.
Scroll down until you see the map of the activity. You will see a button that says "GPX" in the top right corner of the map.
Click on GPX and store the GPX file of that activity on your computer.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I download a Strava Flyover video?
Strava has no download button for Flyover. The 3D video plays in the app and can only be shared to an Instagram story. To get a video file, open the activity on strava.com, click the GPX button next to the map, upload that GPX to AvoMap and render it. The download is an MP4 in 1080p or 4K.
Is there a Strava video downloader?
No official one exists, and third-party "Strava video downloader" apps can't reach the Flyover either, because Strava never produces a file. What every activity does have is a GPX export. AvoMap turns that GPX into a 3D flyover video in the browser, which is the reliable way to get a Strava activity as a video.
Can I download a Strava 3D video for free?
The AvoMap editor is free, including the full 3D preview of your Strava activity with every map style and camera setting open. The export itself costs one render credit for 1080p and two for 4K, from $9 for five videos. There is no subscription. The GPX export from Strava is free as well.
How do I download the GPX file of a Strava activity?
Log in at strava.com, open the activity and scroll to the map. The GPX button sits at the top right of the map on the website; the Strava app has no GPX export. The file holds every GPS point and the elevation of the ride or run, and Strava does not charge for it.
Which Strava activities can be turned into a video?
Any Strava activity with a GPS track: rides, runs, hikes, ski days, open-water swims, sailing. Virtual rides, treadmill runs and pool swims have no track, so there is nothing to draw. Strava's own Flyover has the same limit, so if an activity has a Flyover, it has a GPX.
What quality is the Strava video from AvoMap?
AvoMap renders the Strava activity as an MP4 at 60 frames per second, in 1080p or 4K. Formats for YouTube, Instagram Reels and Stories, and TikTok are built in, so the same activity fits each of them without cropping in another app. The file uploads directly, no conversion needed.
Prefer to skip the export step? AvoMap can also animate any route you draw directly in the editor. Tracking with a watch? The Garmin Connect guide covers the export there.
