Search a place or click the map, and pick how you got there. Drives follow the roads, bike legs avoid the highways, flights draw a direct line between airports, trains follow the railway. One video can mix all of them.
Already recorded the trip? Upload a GPX or KML file from your watch or bike computer and the track lands on the map as your route. You can trim it, reroute parts of it and add legs on either end.
Every leg is a block on the timeline. Drag its edge to give a scenic stretch more time or hurry through a transfer. Drop a pause where you want the viewer to catch up: a summit, a city, the end of a day.
Titles, photos and markers get their own blocks underneath, so you decide when each one appears and how long it stays. Undo covers everything.
Zoom, tilt and heading are set per leg. Six presets cover most videos: a north-up follow, a flyover, a scout ahead of the vehicle, a parallel drift, an orbit and a fixed position.
A fly-in from orbit shows where the trip is before it starts, and a fly-out closes it. On a pause the camera can hold still or circle the spot. When none of that fits, custom keyframes give you the altitude, tilt, angle and focus point at any moment, and AvoMap glides between them.
The route draws itself as the video plays. Colour, width and opacity are yours, per leg or synced across all of them.
A dot can lead the way, or a 3D model that matches the leg: airliners and helicopters that bank on a flight, cars and vans that sit on the road, boats that turn with the water. Your own vehicle works too. Photograph it from four sides and AvoMap builds the model, or import a GLB file you already have.
Overlays sit on the frame, above the map. Add a title in any of the fonts, a photo from the summit, a short clip, a badge or an arrow. Each one fades in and out at the time you set on the timeline.
Animated numbers count up as the route plays: distance, elevation or time, with your own label. An overlay can also be pinned to a spot on the map so it travels with the camera.

Symbols are pinned to the map, so they stay put as the camera moves. Click a spot and AvoMap fills in the place name. More than 100 marker presets cover trailheads, campsites, viewpoints and towns.
Each symbol carries up to three lines of text with its own font, size and position. The icon can be one of the built-in set, one you draw in the icon creator, or a PNG, JPG, WEBP or SVG you upload.
The icon creator puts a bubble, an icon from the library, a photo and a pin together into one marker. Shape, colour, glow, border and corners are all adjustable.
Everything you make or upload goes into your Library, so a marker you built for one video is ready for the next.
The elevation chart fills in along with the route, so viewers see the long climb and the descent without a word of explanation. Colours, size and shading match the rest of the video, a bubble rides the line with the current height, and the chart can fade in and out.
For flat trips, leave it off. It is one toggle either way.
Satellite with or without streets, a topographic outdoors map, snow, light, dark and a classic street map. Each one comes with dawn, day, dusk and night lighting, and 3D terrain is on whenever you want it.
Labels, borders and place names can be turned up, down or off, and the 22 route colours work against all of them.
Upload a PNG and place it where you like, usually a corner. Every video you export carries it, and the AvoMap logo goes away. Guides and race organisers use it to keep their videos on brand.
The fly-in starts high above the route so the viewer understands the shape of the trip before it starts. You set the height, the angle, the direction and how long it takes. The fly-out does the same in reverse at the end.
Pick a format and AvoMap fits the map to it. Landscape for YouTube, portrait for Reels, Shorts and TikTok, square for a feed post. No cropping afterwards.
Full HD is the default and renders fastest. 4K Ultra HD is one extra credit and worth it on a big screen. Every export runs at 60 frames per second.

Photos, clips, icons and 3D models you upload stay in your account. Large photos are optimised on upload, and a clip can be trimmed to the seconds you want before it goes on the frame.
If a photo carries GPS data, AvoMap reads it and can place the photo on the map where it was taken.
A live counter shows how far and how long you have travelled as the video plays, in kilometres or miles.
